Awakening the Heart: Teaching the Path of Meditation

An online immersion for dedicated practitioners and yoga teachers who want to deepen their meditation and teach with clarity, confidence & heart.

Noeleen Tyrrell | Yoga teacher, trainer & coach based in Sligo

Meditation is not an optional extra in yoga - it is the steady centre.

In a time when attention is fractured and teaching can become very physical orientated, meditation brings us back to what is essential - presence, clarity and a heart that can stay open without becoming overwhelmed.

This training is a call to return to the living core of yoga.

Rooted in the wisdom traditions of yoga, this online immersion explores meditation not as a theory but as a lived practice. Together we will study, practice and refine essential meditation methods while also learning how to structure, articulate and guide them for others.

Dive into the profound roots of yoga with Teaching Meditation. This is a course exploring the art and practice of meditation. Historically, meditation has been the heart of yoga, guiding practitioners inward to the "Heart," the atman, or pure awareness. This course bridges traditional teachings with modern yoga practices, showing how meditation complements and enriches asana practice.
Participants will learn foundational meditation techniques, step-by-step templates for teaching meditation, methods to share experiences in workshops, and how to integrate class themes into meditative practices. Perfect for deepening your sadhana and teaching skills.

What You Will Deepen?

Module 1: Introduction to the Practice of Meditation

Philosophical Intention: A grounded understanding of meditation within the wider landscape of yoga - Rooted not Floating

Meditation is the most direct path to experiencing the essential Self—the Divine presence within each of us. As the foundational practice of yoga, meditation deepens and supports all other aspects of yoga, including asana, pranayama, and self-reflection. This module explores meditation as a complement to hatha yoga, offering tools and insights to establish meditation as an integral part of a holistic yoga practice. Participants will learn how meditation nurtures inner connection and fosters spiritual growth.

2. 4-Step Template

Designed for experienced meditators, this template incorporates physical preparation, guided focus, and the use of universal mantras, inspired by Tantra’s “Mantra Marga,” to deepen meditation This module explores creating a safe and supportive environment for group inquiry and reflection on meditation experiences. Sharing allows participants to learn from one another, fostering understanding of the inner world and building group intimacy.

Module 3: Group Sharing Sessions

- Invite participants to describe their best meditation moment with a single word, creating a "virtual pot" of positive experiences like Love, Expansion, and Connection.

- Facilitate discussions on highs and lows, leading to insights about purification and bliss. This practice enriches both personal and collective growth.
